I'm a Bridesmaid!

My sister-in-law, Kaitlin, is getting married in May (see engagement pictures below). Today, we went over to eat lunch with the family and this was sitting on my placemat! Naturally, I flipped out because #1-I LOVE Jelly Beans (they are my absolute fav) and #2- I am so excited and honored to be a bridesmaid...not necessarily in that order ;). She has been very creative and thoughtful in the way she has asked people to be in the wedding in order to make us all feel very special! Thanks Kait...I cannot WAIT!

Anna Banana

While we were in Edisto for the annual Parker family vacation, I also had the privilege of taking some early high school graduation pictures for Anna (my sister-in-law). She did beautifully despite the gale-force winds, gray skies, and hazy conditions. There were several times in which I had to regain my balance because the wind was so strong! Here are some that I managed to stay reasonably still for :)...

Letter from the Publisher

Thanks to my friend, Ashley, I am being advertised as a wedding photographer in her Columbia Bella Weddings Guide. This is definitely a first for me, so she has done so much to help me. She wanted me to take a few headshots of her to go next to her letter from the publisher. Not sure if this is the one she used, but it's one of my favorites. She is so pretty! Thanks for all your help Ashley!

It's a Girl!

One of my best friends, Courtney, is pregnant and just found out she is having a girl! She came to Columbia last weekend to visit, so we all hung out the entire weekend. It was so good to see her. While she was here, we had a mini baby shower for her. Our friend Mary made these beautiful cupcakes for her! No, she is not naming her baby girl Henry...that is her last name :) She didn't know she was having a girl until after she went back home. Congratulations Kirk & Courtney!

Happy Birthday to You!!

Happy Birthday to my sweet hubby! My husband's birthday was this past Monday (Aug. 18). He turned 24...FINALLY as old as me!! ;) The Saturday before, we celebrated by first going to Chick-fil-A for breakfast. Then we went golfing...I never golf, which explains why I hit a house. Strangely enough, Wes told me it was my best shot of the day because I "popped" the ball up in the air- something he had been trying to teach me on previous holes. Considering the golfers behind us had to yell "fore!!" a couple times (AFTER the ball almost hit us)...I felt pretty good about myself by the end of the game.

The next day, we had Wes's family over for his birthday lunch after church. I decided I would make him a cake and icing from scratch for the first time. I had printed off two different recipes...one for the cake and one for what I thought was strawberry cream cheese icing. Well, I made the cake with no problems. Then I made the "icing," which took me about 30 minutes (note to self: icing should not take that long to make). I then discover that what I have made is strawberry cheesecake ICECREAM!! This was after I spilled it everywhere. I did think it was weird that you had to put icing in the freezer, but due to my lack of experience as a cake-maker, I decided to go with it. After another trip to the grocery store, I finally got it right...

Congratulations Kent & Kait!

On Sunday July 27, 2008 Kent & Kait (my sister-in-law) got engaged!! In a nutshell, it went something like this...they were sitting on a beach in Florida spending some time in worship together. Kent pulled out the contact case with the engagement ring inside and popped the question. She accepted and both of them went running into the ocean.

It was great because after they got engaged, we all met in Edisto for the annual Parker family beach vacation. This means that I got to take their engagement pictures on the beach!

Now, there are many reasons why I have posted an abnormal amount of pictures on this post...(1) They are family (2) They are the cutest couple ever (3) I couldn't narrow down which ones to post (4) I figure I don't have much on the blog yet, so why not??

Ok, here's the other part of the story...a couple years ago, Kent bought Kait a Bible engraved with 'Kaitlin Parker.' He purposely left a space after 'Parker' to later insert 'Suits.' Clever guy! So, on the beach that day right before he proposed, he gave her the Bible with her new name! The back of the Bible says 'I Love You.'

I was especially very touched by this because my husband proposed to me by giving me a Bible with my new name :)

Love & Rainbows :)
Gotta have lovey feet pictures!

That's right, Showing off the bling.

This is how they were when he proposed.

One of the best scriptures on which to build a marriage.

And there's me in action. My other sister-in-law (Anna) came along for the shoot and took pictures of me taking pictures of them. Thanks Anna!
Congrats guys! I pray that God will bless you in unimaginable ways! Love you!
